Happy Solstice

May we all come together and reflect on our year and pass into the new. Our thoughts go out to all our friends and family. We have really been blessed this year. Thank you.

Wow we have a lot to catch up on. We just finished up recording new songs for the full length over at Battle Tapes with Jeremy. They sound really great and we are in the process of mixing between everything Jeremy is doing right now. It's good to see him really busy. Hope people saw our little ad on Foxy Digitalis this past month. We are just trying to expand our community and let people know we want to extend our friendship to them. Thanks goes out to our friend Cassie Waldman for helping us out with a really great ad. Lastly we had a really good review over at Dusted magazine. Here is the review:

album cover
Heathern Haints
Heathern Haints 12” EP
(self-released)

Slow-burning sloth jams, pulling all of Codeine’s tricks out of storage and polishing them up for reuse. The singer sounds like Ian McCullough, the band waiting for those precise Godspeed/Mogwai moments to burst forth, but sounding proudly instead of cowering in dirges. It works really well on “The Good Air,” better than anyone I’ve heard in a while on the ice/epic axis of the post rock scrapyard (“Golden Moment” features some fragile, Talk Talk-style deconstruction, justifying the metaphor). Nice one, took a while for it to sink in, but it stands out now. The entire pressing of 300 is all on mixed colored vinyl.

Hope everyone has a hope filled holiday season and all of our friends and families will be in our thoughts in the coming months.

Expanding the Community

Our record is $10 ppd anywhere in the world. We want to get our record into the hands of people who will appreciate what we have to offer. There is no agenda or manifesto. We just want to expand our music community and meet good people who will share with us along the way. It is about who you can connect with. We are very surprised and thankful for all we have up to this point. We continue on a daily basis experiencing new things and people. So, open your hearts along with us and share in our community.

The month of October will be very busy for us. Starting next weekend. We will be in Richmond, VA at the Riot House. Thanks to our friends Dark Sea Dream for hooking us up with the show. The next weekend we will be in Dayton, OH playing with our old friend Alex's new band at the Dayton Dirt Collective. Then its back home for a house show on Friday Oct. 24th with Conger Eel, Jeff and Looks Like Snakes. We travel to Odessa in Memphis on Oct. 29th for a show with USA is a Monster. It will be a fantastic show! Then we will back in time for Samhain. Hope to meet all kinds of new people and catch up with our old friends. We will bring the light and warmth with us.

We are proud to announce:

Ritual of White Light

Extend the community to Minneapolis band Vampire Hands. We will be playing with them next Thursday. I liken them to a little bit of Animal Collective and little Red Krayola. Ole Mossy Face will be playing with us and extending the bearded jams. Marty will be out of town for this show, so our friend Dave Brown has agreed to step in and hold down the low-end. This will probably be our last show in Nashville until the new year so everybody come and show some support.
On another note. We have been picked up by Tomentosa Records. A little distributor out of North Carolina. Josh has some very great records for sale. Most are small run and limited editions. You can find him here:Tomentosa Records He has some really great records, so go check him out now.
We will be sending some demos off to Lexicon Devil pretty soon. Dave, Lexicon Devil, and us have been discussing about putting out a full length cd. We hope that will come to light and hope we just didn't jinx our standings by letting everybody know. Keep good thoughts for us and we will be the candle in the darkness.

Bask in the Spirit and Light

Thanks to everybody who came out last week to our Record Release show. We very much appreciate the good words everybody has said about us and our record. A special Thank You goes out to Louis and Crew at the Groove and our mates 84001 and Taiwan Deth. Much thanks to all of you.
We also have a review over at Terrastock Terrascope Phil said some really great things and he should be commended for all his championing of the scene and for every Terrastock Festival he puts on and puts together. Much love goes out to him and the Terrastock folks. They are our inspiration and our definition of community. We are very lucky to have such people in our lives. We also have another great review, don't ask me why we are just now posting this, we should have posted it a long time ago. Over on Lexicon Devil Dave said many good words about us and much thanks goes out to him. We are the Aug.5th post. I think we will have more news concerning Dave and Lexicon Devil in the coming months. I hope I just didn't jinx the proceedings by talking about them. We shall see what comes about. Hope to see you all around and keep positive thoughts and light in your mind.

Our 12" record is finally seeing the light of day. We have a release part coming on Saturday, August 30th. We are very fortunate to find a great place to have it . The Groove in East Nashville has been kind enough to host. Joining us will be our friends Taiwan Deth and 84001. Our record is already available for those of you who don't live near us. You can find it on our Myspace page : myspace.com/heathernhaints or you can go to Paypal and send a payment to lateronwe [at] gmail [dot] com. We are offering it for $10 postage paid. That does include international orders. We just want to get our record in to the hands of people that will appreciate it. We have several shows coming too. You can also find that over on our myspace page. If you would like to see us live please do not hesitate to ask and we will try to make it out. We want people to be a part of what we have to offer and build communities and friendships. They are very hard to find in this day, well the lasting kind. We just want to connect with people of like minds and share in the growing spirit. We will light a candle for you and we hope you will do the same for us. Hope to see you all soon. Align those important points and line them with meaning. For we all share in connection and vibration.

What can we say?

We have been very busy around this place as of late. Sorry not the blog, but doing other Heathern Haint things. Dropped off our recent recordings (see picture) that we did with Jeremy over at Battletapes. We should have the test pressing back in about a week or so. We also played a Terrastock Tea Party last night. It was a really great show. A lot of positive vibes and good times. Lets start thinking about a community and build upon these positive forces. No one else will carry these things for us. Why don't we just do it ourselves. Outside the normal stream of vessels and venues. Here is to Tim and his band 84001 for asking us to play last and our friend Chris Davis for sticking his neck out and being brave enough to bring a lot of really great music here to Nashville. Lets stick together and create a place where we can thrive and open some minds.

Oh the Fires are burnin

Oh hear the music and dance your dance. The call of the drone. The ever lasting heart beat that is inside. Walk with us now. Let your hair down and remove that mask. Here you will not need it. Everyone is accepted. Leave your preconceived notions at the door. Let the pulse and the thrumm guide you. Let us all be one. Accept us as we are and we will do the same of you. Every voice has value. Come give it now. Revolution is upon us, so lets join hands in brother/sisterhood and speak ill of each other no more. We can not abide by hipster claims and know it all fucks. Leave all that shit behind and let us live and play together because all our time is fleeting. Tell us about your tales and stories and maybe we will share some of ours in our time together. When our paths do leave one another let both of us be richer in having spent the time together. With love and peace go now and follow your paths.
